Architecture & Interior Design
Author: Zach Modis

Architecture and interior design are fundamental aspects of the
developing of a beautiful, useful and comfortable home,
business, or virtually any other place. Usually, there will be
two different individuals that will do the work in designing the
location. One will work on the development of the architecture
which would be the structural part of the building or
surroundings and one will work on the interior design which is
the inside of the building or surroundings. Yet, many times the
same person can do all of the design work. In some cases, these
terms can be used interchangeably especially when referring to
remodeling of a home.

When remodeling of a home is done, the designer, or person who
will design the building and the décor that will be inside of
it, will look at the structure itself. The designer will
determine if it is safe and sound. This means inspecting it to
insure that nothing will fall or cause it to be ruined in some
other way. They are looking at it to insure that it is safe for
someone to use.

From here, the architectural aspects are considered. This means
that the aspects of the building, such as the materials that are
used on the walls, the door structures, the size of the
building, and many other pieces and parts that make up the
actual building. By studying the features that already exist in
the structure, the designer will either decide to change them or
will determine how to enhance or fit them into the place for
what the remodeling project will be.

The next task of the interior designer will be to determine what
textiles and other elements will be put into the space to
enhance it. This may include a theme for the area, a design
element that the entire rest of the project will work around or
the desires of the individual that owns the space. They will use
textures, colors, geometrical shapes and other elements that
will be appealing in the final design.

Architecture and interior design can be learned in a school
setting. There are many schools that have interior design
programs that will teach those that are looking for a career in
the field. The skills that are learned will help them to meet
the needs of their future client. It will teach them such things
as how colors work together, how to use other aspects of
interior design and how to develop their business and manage it.

Architecture and interior design have been parts of society for
hundreds of years. It has changed considerable over time, but
one thing always seems to remain the same. People want to have a
space that is attractive, easy to use and comfortable to their
needs.
